It is becoming increasingly evident that Massachusetts is seeing an era that requires adjustments in the way government is run. Some towns and cities in the Bay State have begun to rid the taxpayers of the burden of government worker payrolls in selected areas. New Bedford, for example, has decided to hand sanitation services over to a private company (ABC Disposal). This will save the city millions in the duration of the contract. It will also save the city taxpayers untold millions more.

Had the city not handed the garbage removal task over to a private entity, the taxpayers would find themselves paying for the healthcare of all city sanitation department workers and one day paying the the pensions of all of these workers too. Looking at the exodus of taxpayers and companies from Massachusetts and the migration of people looking for the generous social programs here, I don't see things staying the same much longer. It is time for government to privatize.

Looking at current events in Massachusetts regarding the DSS, it is clear that the field "investigators" are under-trained and overloaded with cases. The state is in a deficit right now and the state funded programs are under intense strains. My suggestion is to sub-contract many of these cases to private investigators licensed in Massachusetts. We are better trained, more qualified and meet with more stringent requirements to be licensed than the current investigative standards at the Department of Social Services. We can save the state's at risk children and their families who are under the radar due to the overwhelmed and less than acceptable effort the state is currently putting forward. Many of the claims looked into turn out to be frivolous and based on child custody spats. Many cases are urgent and in need of instant results but often don't meet with them causing unneccessary human suffering. The savings to taxpayers is also one to be considered but more importantly the value of the investigative effort goes up and every abused or neglected child or spouse deserves at least that.

The Massachusetts Dept. of Revenue is putting on a brave face but has failed to find too many ' Deadbeat ' parents who have fled from child support responsibilities. Private Investigators are often called on by desperate single parents who realize the state isn't (or can't) do enough. I urge Massachusetts legislators and the governor to consider the immense and talented resources already here and waiting to serve; Massachusetts Licensed Private Detectives.
